World Beer Awards and Whisky Magazine Tastings
European entries have been pouring in for the regional heats of the World Beer Awards in time for Round One of the judging which took place on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th June. Over the two days, the Chairman for Europe and a panel of judges carried out blind tastings to select the style winners in their region. It is very exciting to see so many great beers competing and we look forward to Round Two. In other news, Whisky Magazine had some wonderful feedback from the Managing Director of the Ben Nevis Distillery Company having featured one of their whiskies in the tastings section: “I am writing to say how much I enjoyed reading your unbiased comments and have to say what really knocked me out was your comments piece where you mention ‘This is the Rolling Stones of whisky; nothing without the wood turned up loud!’ I have been a life-long fan of the Stones since 1962, and you will never know just how much that comment really means to me”.
